Recapping the Captivating 2022 DStv Mzansi Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards

The fourth star-studded DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards took place this past Saturday, 25 June at Times Square, Sun Arena in Menlyn, Pretoria.

The event, which returned after a two-year hiatus, was a chance for local celebrities and delegates to dress to the nines and strut their way down the “blue” carpet. 

Amongst those present were media mogul and actress Connie Ferguson (who was crowned Mzansi’s Favourite Personality) and presenter Lawrence Maleka, who co-hosted the evening and also won two awards (Ultimate Viewers’ Choice and Favourite TV Presenter).

While most people appeared in jaw-dropping outfits, others simply raised eyebrows: actress Ntando Duma’s nude, sheer dress has tweeps divided, with some calling it classy and others claiming it’s trashy. 

Singer Sannah Mcunu, on the other hand, wore a stunning beaded red dress while accepting her award for Favourite Actress.  

Speaking of the evening, Nyiko Shiburi – the CEO of MultiChoice South Africa – said: “The turnout was amazing. Pulling this event together has been an exciting experience and it was all for a good cause: bringing South Africa together to celebrate and honour our entertainment greats.”
